The Ke Kukui Foundation once again brings Hawaiian culture to our backyard with the Annual 3 Days of Aloha celebration, July 24th thru July 26th, 2014.
The fun begins with the Hula and Craft workshop at the Red Lion in Jantzen Beach on Thursday and Friday, featuring genuine Hawaiian teachers, offering instruction on dance, language, history, cultural crafts, lei making, featherwork, and so much more.
Friday takes participants to Esther Short Park with Hapa Haole Hula Competition at 5pm. Come early and enjoy the classic Hapa Haole live music at 3pm.
The fun stays in Vancouver on Saturday with a 5K Aloha Fun Run/Walk and a Ho’ike and Hawaiian Festival. The run starts at 8am… bring the kids, leave the pups at home and be ready to enjoy a beautiful jaunt along the Columbia River. The official party starts at 10am with raffles, arts and crafts, delicious food, and a showcase of the Hapa Haole Hula competition winners.
Get all the details online at hawaiianfestivalpnw.com, register for a class or two, sign up for the run, or become an official hula competitor. Mark your calendars, bring a chair and come experience Hawaii!
