Bare Your Soles at the Rusty Grape

3rd Annual StompFest at Local Winery.

While the days of the grape stomp for wine making purposes is long gone, the day for the grape stomp for fun and prizes is just around the corner (and up the hill ) at the Rusty Grape Vineyard in Battle Ground on September 26, 2009.

This event is from 12 to 8 pm, is free, and everyone is invited.  There will be live music, food, prizes, fun, and three different stomp times; 1, 3, and 5 pm, with 10 teams of 2 people. So, grab a partner and jump into a barrel full of grapes; the winner will get a free night stay at the Ocean Lodge at Cannon Beach.  Now that’s what I call a pedicure: a grape juice soak followed by a sea salt and sand rinse!

“It is a great time to come out and enjoy this old world celebration of the crush. There is nothing better than watching two people stomp grapes in a half barrel.” Now, am I the only one who can’t get the “I Love Lucy” grape stomping episode out of my head?
