Downtown Vancouver Art in the Heart Festival

Outdoor Festival of the Arts.

A First Friday event so big, it’s taking over the first Saturday, too! Vancouver’s Downtown Association Annual Art in the Heart event will kick off  Friday, August 5 between 5 pm and 9pm, and continue Saturday, August 6 from 10 am to 4 pm.

This annual outdoor event is free to attend and features dozens of artists working in all styles and medium from the downtown galleries selling work along the sidewalks and on the streets, along with live music, artist demonstrations, poetry readings and even a fashion show.

“Gallery 360 & Mosaic Arts Alliance will present  the 2nd Annual Wearable Art Benefit Fashion Show for the Art in the Heart Festival, 7pm Friday night.  This show will prove to be an eclectic array of apparel & accessories for women and men.  The outdoor audience will see retro/vintage examples of artsy wear, along with modern ready2wear that will look as though it came from an artists easel.  Handmade jewelry, body art and exotic lingerie will also provide a myriad of visual appeal … AND it’s a STREET PARTY with live music by the band UpFront starting at 5:00 and playing until 9:00!  Come join the fun at  Main & 9th Streets. The fashion show is free to enjoy; or you can make a donation ($10 each or 2 for $15) for priority seating to sit and watch the show.
