Full Day of Events Scheduled at Fort Vancouver to Celebrate the Fourth!
The Fourth of July Celebration at Fort Vancouver is back for 2010! And, while the fireworks show, which always has been and always will be (in my opinion) the Grand Finale of the day, there is much more to the Fort Vancouver Fourth of July Celebration than fireworks.
There will be four different stages of entertainment, with shows beginning at noon. There will be an Independence Day Kids Patriotic Parade at 2 pm, and all kids are welcome to participate (check in at the Visitor Center). There will be a Hands on History Tent, Guided Walking Tours of Vancouver Barracks and Officers Row, games and activities for kids and adults (such as trying out the US Army Climbing Wall, giant inflatable double slide, water balloon contests, even schedule a ride in a bi-plane). Food vendors will be on hand (or you can bring your own picnic) as well as an “Adult Beverage Pavilion” (don’t try to bring your own
).
The fireworks show will begin at approximately 10:00 pm, will launch from a base at Pearson Air Field, and fill the sky 450 feet overhead until about 10:30 pm!
