American Veterans Traveling Tribute on Display.

veterans memorial 135 web La Center Honors VetsLa Center will host the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall August 4th through August 8th, 2010 at La Center City Park (1000 E Fourth Street), which is the same park the Little League Fields are located. The tribute will be on display 24 hours a day.

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute travels the United States with the Cost of Freedom Tribute to provide a forum for the members of the community to come together to Honor-Respect-Remember all those whom we have asked to stand in harm’s way to protect and defend our great country and freedom as our way of life.

The main feature of the tribute is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.  The replica stands 8 feet tall and spans nearly 390 feet. In addition, the tribute includes exhibits honoring those who died in other wars, from World War II to the present-day conflicts, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
