Sacajawea School Carnival

Community Event and FUNdraiser.

The Sacajawea School Carnival will be on Friday, May 18, 2012 between 5:30 and 8:30 pm at the Sacajawea Elementary School in Hazel Dell (700 NE 112th St).

As always, admission is Free; but game and food tickets will be sold at the event for 25 cents (most games take 2 tickets to participate), as well as Raffle tickets for $1 (there are currently over 100 prizes for the Raffle and Buy-a-Bid!) There will be a raffle, prizes, games, cake walk, bingo, food and fun…

The funds that the Sacajawea PTA raises goes towards many programs and items that may otherwise not be offered. These include teacher grants, student classroom incentives, field trips, book fairs, family fun nights, 5th grade farewell/yearbook/t-shirts, carnival, training, awards, staff appreciation, patrol, and many more.

Propstra Square Flower Planting

The Parks Foundation is recruiting volunteers to help plant the large planters and flowerbeds in and around Propstra Square at Esther Short Park. The planting will be held on Saturday, May 19, at 9:30 a.m. Volunteers should arrive at Propstra Square by 9 a.m. to complete volunteer registration forms. Event sponsor, Vancouver Hilton, will provide refreshments for volunteers both before and after the planting.

Please preregister through the Parks Foundation office no later than Wednesday, May 16, by contacting  the Parks Foundation office at 487-8370 or via email to cheri.martin@parksfoundation.us.
