September 20th, 2014; St Vincent De Paul Walk for the Poor, a beautiful 5K loop from St James Catholic church downtown Vancouver, along the waterfront, through historic Fort Vancouver, and back to the church. St Vincent De Paul is Clark County’s largest food pantry, and provides so much more than food to thousands of residents in need. Registration is $25 per adult, $10 for kids 6 to 12, 5 & under are free. Their goal is to raise $30,000!
September 27, 2014; 4th Annual North County Wine Run at Schumacher Farm in Battle Ground. Run starts at 9:30am with a half-marathon and beautiful 9K loops. Cost is $65 for the half-marathon and $40 for the 9K. The race benefits Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
October 11th, 2014; Super Fun Hero Run 5K at 9am, starts at Wy-East Middle School and ends at Columbia Springs on the old Evergreen Highway. Post-race activities at Columbia Springs start around 10am, and include activities, food, and prizes for the best costumes! Shuttles will be available to get back to Wy-East. Cost is $20 per adult, $10 for kids 10 to 17. Kids under 9 are free, but must be accompanied by an adult. The race benefits the Children’s Scholarship Fund.
October 11th, 2014; Mud Factor 5K Obstacle Run at Washougal Motorcross Track beginning at 10:30am. Registration ends October 8th. This is a fun, muddy course with no first or last place… so come as you are and have fun! There is also a Mud Factor Kidz run for kids aged 4 to 13. The course is approximately 1.5 to 2 miles. October 12th, 2014; 8th Annual Girlfriends Run For a Cure Quarter and Half Marathon in Downtown Vancouver. Race starts at 9am. Some participants walk, some run, some do a combination… so no matter your ability, this is a great event for you. Cost is $75 if you register prior to September 14th, $80 after that. All proceeds go to the Oregon & SW Washington Susan G Komen for the Cure Affiliate. Find out what the Pink Brigade Guys for the Girlfriends Run For a Cure is. Only 50 lucky men have the opportunity to run, sponsor, or support the race in a special way. Do YOU have what it takes? Also take note of the Kids Mini-Marathon at Girlfriends Run For a Cure. Cost is $30 and benefit’s the Children’s Center.
November 30th, 2014; Hot Buttered Run 12K, 5K, and kids ‘Kandy Kane’ race at Esther Short Park. This is a great way to burn off that Thanksgiving turkey and pie! A portion of the proceeds go to the Race to Remember.
