A Special Race at Fort Vancouver.
A celebration of kids, running, beer…and bacon!
The inaugural Great Bacon Race will take place at Fort Vancouver on Saturday, October 12, 2013. This special race is a 5K and 10K race, a kids half mile race, and “Holdyn’s Race” (read more about this amazing kid here) – a free special run for special needs kids. It is a celebration of the accomplishment of crossing ANY finish line and a fundraiser for the March of Dimes.
“This fantastic event is more than just a running race. It is a full morning of fun and excitement designed to celebrate the accomplishment of crossing a finish line… for EVERYBODY. The Great Bacon Race features three separate running events surrounded by a great pavilion of entertainment and activities.” ~The Great Bacon Race
Runners can expect a chip timed race, finishers medal, t-shirt, free childcare during the race, pulled pork taco from Great Escape Catering, cold beer, and all you can eat bacon! Everyone can enjoy a running and community expo, music and entertainment, beer and wine tasting, food trucks, and just some good Saturday morning fun!
