The POW/MIA Memorial at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 15005 NE 65th St, will be unveiled on September 20th, 2014. Ground broke in March and the hard-work will be showcased starting with a reception at 9:45am, and a program at 11am.
The Community Military Appreciation Committee (CMAC), a civic nonprofit organization, was in charge of construction, but this memorial and event could have only been made possible with the help of the community. The Anna and Dwight Schwab Sr Charitable Foundation made a generous contribution, and personalized bricks were purchased to help support the memorial.
Everyone is invited to see the unveiling of this new monument dedicated to prisoners of war, those missing in action, and their families. This is our opportunity to show them… they are not forgotten.
