Paddle On at the 2014 SUP Salmon Classic

hey! sharing is caring :)

On Sunday, August 31, 2014, join professional and recreational Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) athletes from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm on the Columbia River as they take to the waters for a day of events and competition.

Paddleboarders from around the region and world will come together for the 2014 SUP Salmon Classic, which includes an 8-mile Long Course, a 4-mile Short Course and a 2-mile fun course. The races are gender equal and sanctioned by the World Paddle Association (WPA).

This year the event will be hosted by the City of Washougal, Washington. The races will take place on the calm waters along Cottonwood Beach at Captain Clark Park. The site offers a large, convenient beach for the each race start and finish. The long, open public beach will provide excellent viewing for spectators with a large grassy area for entertainment, vendor booths and concessions. Admission is free, so bring the whole family for a day of water fun.

Make plans to check out the Pre-Race party on Saturday, August 30th in downtown’s Reflection Plaza, 1703 Main Street. Enjoy live music and stop by local shops for special deals on shopping, dinner or a libation. This event is sponsored by Downtown Washougal.
