Running Season Hits Clark County

The Northwest is a fabulous place to live… and run! We’ve put together a list of spring runs that has something for everyone. Grab those running shoes, a partner, and hit the track (or trail, or road…)

Keep checking back as we will update the list and calendar when more running events are planned. Each run will have different fees and requirements, please check with the coordinator for each event for more information.

March 1st- Lincoln School 4.3 Mile Run, organized by the Clark County Running Club (CCRC). Starting at 10am runners will leave Lincoln Elementary School, weave through the Lincoln neighborhood, head to Discovery Trail, then climb through Ben Franklin neighborhood. No restrooms are available.

March 2nd- 6th annual Fred Meyer Fort Vancouver Run. Event starts at 8am at the Grand Central Fred Meyers. Proceeds support the Fort Vancouver National Trust. This run has something for everyone… short distance, long distance, kids run, activities, and beer from the Rock Wood Fired Pizza! Visit Energy Events for more information and to get registered.

March 8th- David Douglas Burnt Bridge Creek 3.4 Mile Run, organized by CCRC. Runners meet in the farthest west parking lot of David Douglas Park at 10am. This event will take you out of the park and along the beautiful Burnt Bridge Creek Trail.

March 22, 2014- March Muddy Madness, presented by NW Personal Training, held at Woodland MX. The course is only one-mile, but the goal is to see how many laps you can survive while beating obstacles and fitness challenges. Be ready for MUD! There will also be a muddy kids run for the twelve and under family members! Visit the NW Personal Training Website for more details, a video, and registration.

March 22nd- Hockinson Park 3-mile Run, organized by CCRC. The run starts in Hockinson Meadows Community Park at 10am.

April 5th- Marine Park 3 Mile Run, organized by CCRC. Run begins at the park at 10am and will take runners along the Renaissance Trail to enjoy the fresh air and the gorgeous views of the Columbia River.

April 13th- The 2nd Annual Blooms to Brews Half Marathon and 10K Run/Walk. The run begins and ends at Horseshoe Lake Park. Starting time is 8am. The run will weave through the beautiful and historic Woodland Bottoms Farm Country. Proceeds will benefit the Scott Hill Park and Sports Complex. The event has several local sponsors, including Alameda Brew Company, and plenty of goodies included with registration.

April 19th- Lacamas Park 5 Mile Run, organized by CCRC. Hit the unpaved trails ’round Round Lake, beginning at 10 AM and enjoy a beautiful and challenging run. Restrooms are available.

April 27th- Washougal Dike Fall Half Marathon/7.1 Mile/5K Run, organized by CCRC. The run begins and ends at Cottonwood Beach Park, consists of two out-and-back six mile loops, plus a 1.1 mile loop around the beach. Official start time is 10am, course closes at 12:30. Runners are welcome to start as early as 9am.

May 3rd- Waterfront 5K, organized by CCRC, begins behind the Hilton at 10 AM.

May 10th- Klineline 3 and 6 Mile Run, organized by CCRC. Out and back from Klineline park along the amazing and scenic Salmon Creek Trail.

May 25th- Green Angel Race Amboy Haft Marathon, 10 miles, 8 miles, 6 miles, 4 miles, 3 miles and kids 1 miles fun Run… something for everyone!! The event begins at Amboy Elementary School at 8am, wrapping up at 12:00pm. This is a fundraiser for the Angostura’s School, located in the poorest region of the Dominican Republic. Entry fees vary. For more information contact Julie Beard at 360-823-3391, or 360-666-9707.  There will be music, great food, drinks, award medals, and every finisher get a t-shirt! Bring out the whole family for a quick run, and lots of fun!
