Summer Fun Tradition Continues.
Lordy, Lordy, look who’s 40! The Vancouver Sausage Festival is the “last blowout of summer fun” and will celebrate its 40th Anniversary September 9-11, 2011; which is the weekend after Labor Day this year. Actually, it is always held the weekend after Labor Day on the St. Joseph School grounds (6500 Highland Drive).

Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser Walk at Esther Short Park.
Great Strides is an annual walk to raise funds, awareness and hope for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. This year the Great Strides Walk will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Esther Short Park beginning at 9 am.

The Refuge Stewards, in collaboration with the Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership (LCREP) and Refuge Volunteers hosted a major planting effort to restore riparian habitat along Gibbons Creek at Steigerwald Lake NWR.
