Update 8/12/2010: Vancouver Lake IS cleared for swimming! Clark County Public Health officials have lifted the health advisory for no swimming in Vancouver Lake after the most recent testing showed the cyanobacteria (algae bloom) was no longer a threat. No More Lifeguards on Duty.
The good news is that Klineline Pond at Salmon Creek Park will remain open for swimming this summer. The bad news is that due to budget cuts, there will no longer be lifeguards on duty. And, since one of the duties of the lifeguards was to also maintain the spray feature at the park, that will also be turned off this summer.

Vancouver Lake Closed to Swimmers.
Update 8/21/09: Vancouver Lake Reopens for Swimming Today!
Vancouver Lake has been temporarily closed until further notice due to high levels of E. Coli bacteria and Blue-Green Algae. Because exposure to either of these can cause illness, public health officials are recommending:
*No Swimming or Wading
*No Wind Surfing or Sail Boarding
*No Water Contact for Animals
