Salmon Creek Christmas Tree Recycling.
While Christmas 2011 is over, I still haven’t had the heart to take down our Christmas Tree. It’s a live tree (well, it used to be) and the needles are drying out a bit, so most likely it will come down on January 2, 2012. That gives me a whole 5 days before the Cub Scouts will be out looking for Christmas Trees to pick up.

The Sixth Annual Recycled Arts Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 25th and 26th, 2011 at Esther Short Park.
Over 100 artists have taken the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” to heart and will be displaying their recycled art at this year’s Recycled Arts Festival. They Can All be Recycled This Saturday in Vancouver.
While your Christmas Tree is probably not green anymore, you can still be green when you get rid of it! Just be sure you have removed all ornaments, tinsel, lights, etc., and then you can either:
A. Leave them curbside Saturday morning for the Boy Scouts to pickup, a $7 donation is suggested. (this will include all Clark County School District boundaries except Green Mountain and rural Battle Ground)

So, I started reading the Columbia Springs Master Composter/Recycler Newsletter, and on the front page is the Compost Rap, written by Jo Anne Dolan, Master Composter/Recycler Coordinator. I just had to share!

Community Share Fair

Will Return in 2010.
The Community Share Fair has been an annual event since 2005, and 2008 was a huge success. Over 20,000 pounds of reusable and recyclable materials were collected. So, when is the Share Fair in 2009?
Unfortunately, due to construction at the Share Fair collection site and budget constraints, there will Not be a Community Share Fair in 2009; but, the Share Fair will return in 2010.
