Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge holds a wealth of history and information about the area’s ancestors. On August 9th and 10th, 2014 head to the refuge to see artwork, basketry, carvings, and traditional skills showcased… like you’ve never seen before.
On Saturday, join local artists, Greg Robinson and Greg Archuleta with artful demonstrations and exhibitions, and enjoy learning of the Chinookan language, presented by Chinuk Wawa.
On Sunday, watch archery, atlatl throwing, flintknapping, and friction fire come to life. Tribal members of the Chinook Indian Nation and the Confederated Tribes of Grande will bring these skills to life. Be ready to participate!
The event will take place from 12pm to 4pm at the Cathlapotle Plankhouse. Entry to the park is $3 per vehicle. Visit Ridgefieldfriends.org for more information on this and their other summer events.
